The term bank refers to two conceptions. Either it is a sector of economic activity, the one dealing with banking operations? the banking sector ?, which includes the suppliers and distributors of contracts relating to these operations. Either the term refers to one of the types of companies active in this sector, mainly credit institutions or payment institutions, as regards service providers, or banking intermediation companies, as regards distributors of these same services.

Does finance cover a field of activity? that of financing? which consists in providing the money necessary to carry out an economic operation. This area concerns individuals, households as well as public or private companies, but also States.
